Thai girl starts social media campaign to find Wexford lad who photobombed her selfie
AN IRISH STUDENT is currently the subject of a social media campaign in Thailand, started by a girl looking to find the mystery man who photobombed her selfie.
Wexfordian David Atkinson, a student at Dublin City University, went to visit his brother James in Thailand earlier this month.
At a concert in Bangkok, the pair went around making mischief and photobombing people – and now one girl wants to reunite with the man who stole her heart (and her photo).
David told DailyEdge.ie his side of the story:
He didn’t realise that he had made a real impression on the locals until he returned home:
Sure enough – here’s the blog post, and there’s David’s mug:

David told DailyEdge.ie that he intends on getting in contact with the girl, once he figures out how to do so.
It looks like she might get there first, though, as one of her readers has tracked down David’s Facebook page.
Could this be a love for the ages? We’ll update as the story develops.
Thanks to Donie O’Sullivan for alerting us (and David himself) to the story
